In depth
Verdict
Anzal has been given sufficient time to recover after his comfortable victory at Exeter a fortnight ago and, as the most progressive horse in the field, is taken to get the better of Hawthorn Prince and Punchy if this develops into a test of resilience. The five-year-old acts on a variety on going and should have no problem in getting the trip. Hawthorn Prince is also developing into a useful performer and should make a bold bid to land the hat-trick today. However, he has no easy task under his penalty and may find one too good today. Punchy was a game winner at decent odds at Bangor last week and, with Tony McCoy in the saddle, may be the one to capitalize if any of the market principles fail to shine for any reason.
