Verdict

Eleazar Des Neiges is comfortably the pick on official ratings but was in poor form for much of last winter and has questions to answer. New tactics were employed on Majestic Maid at Roscommon where, in first-time cheekpieces, she made all and ran on very strongly. It's a year since SOLDIER AT WAR beat Enjoy D'allen a couple of lengths off level weights at Kilbeggan. The runner-up won twice subsequently then finished third in the Irish National and is now rated 145 so Gordon Elliott's charge looks a potentially very useful chaser. Dual hurdles winner Ilikedwayurthinkin arrives on the back of a comfortable victory at Ballinrobe and has plenty of scope for improvement.
