In depth

Verdict

NOBLE YEATS, a very smart bumper and hurdler, has been waiting for the ground to ease having been withdrawn twice in recent days. He looks a very useful recruit to chasing as does Magic Haze, who has also been taken out twice recently due to quicker than ideal going. The latter finished runner-up in the Grade 2 Dawn Run Hurdle at Cheltenham in March and will be ready for this. Ragnar Lodbrok won over hurdles here a year ago then ran in strong company so he's an interesting recruit to the bigger obstacles. Birchdale had useful form for Nicky Henderson and made a satisfactory debut for Enda Bolger at Limerick while Julies Stowaway could hardly be in better form for his chasing bow having completed a double over timber back in May. Gabynako, rated 139 over timber, is another worth keeping an eye on in an intriguing race.
