Verdict

REBEL FITZ was surprisingly beaten on his chasing debut but has made no mistake since and was very impressive when beating the useful Sizing Italy at the Festival here last month. He can go all the way to the top of the novice division this season, though the concession of weight to some decent rivals won't be easy. Shadow Eile, runner-up in the Grade 1 Mares Hurdle at Punchestown in April, had no problems making a winning debut over fences at Killarney and could turn out to be very useful while Saint Gervais , though a long way behind the selection at Killarney in July, definitely improved to beat Steps To Freedom there last month. Henry De Bromhead has some nice chasers this season and Lord Ben is amongst them though he'll need to improve further in this company.
