In depth

Verdict

Crack At Dawn always looked to be going well when winning under his amateur rider over track and trip last month but just held on in the end and may vulnerable under a 5lb higher mark. Chestnut Ben finally got his head in front again under McCoy at Fontwell on Sunday but now has a 7lb penalty while Daneva has finished tailed off since beating Crack At Dawn at Stratford in July. Blinkers did the trick for ECHO DANCER here in July and faster ground may have been to blame for a subsequent defeat. He still has scope over fences and can get back to winning ways today.
