Verdict

Henry De Bromhead has won this twice in recent years but Gangster has been very disappointing since his excellent early form over fences. Useful hurdler Carrig Cathal got no further than the first on his chasing bow at Thurles in October so CHATEAU CONTI can take this despite making his chasing debut as he has a smart pedigree for jumping fences and ran very well on his reappearance over hurdles last month. Morgan has made too many mistakes in his two runs over fences but has plenty of time on his side and should do better and Gusty Rocky made a fine debut over the bigger obstacles at Killarney and wouldn't need much more to get involved. St Stephens Green has won six of his 18 starts on the level and over hurdles and he's an interesting entry on his chasing bow from a yard that can get one ready.
