In depth

Verdict

Plenty of entries but few with realistic chances. WOULD BE KING has a fine opportunity to lose his maiden tag as he's come up against much stronger opposition and though beaten when long odds-on at Dundalk came up against a Ballydoyle improver. Iiex Excelsa, disqualified after finishing first past the post at Cork in March, then ran in two Group 3 races before failing to hold another Ballydoyle inmate, Conclusion, at Limerick. She looks the main threat though Burning Question just failed to concede 16lb to Stormy Tale in a Ballinrobe handicap and has form on ground with plenty of give. Dermot Weld's Dabiyr has a middle-distance pedigree and will probably need further in time.
