Verdict
Convara was narrowly beaten on his chasing bow at Killarney and was in front when falling at the last at Tipperary last week. Global Jackpot, who has had more experience than most of these having had nine starts over fences, finished third with Ming Dynasty back in fifth. Three-times hurdles winner Ingleby Mackenzie has only shown moderate form so far over fences but it's about time STAR MAX (NAP) was scoring over the bigger obstacles. A winner on the Flat and over hurdles, he's run in much stronger company than this over fences and wasn't beaten far behind Jerandme at Kilbeggan three weeks ago.
