Verdict
Little racecourse evidence to go on and, as ever in this type of event, the market will provide further clues. The tentative vote goes to Psychiatrist ahead of Jedburgh and Secretary General while Over The Rainbow is an interesting newcomer to note. Richard Hannon's charge was narrowly denied a winning debut over course and distance in late June and was then unfortunate to run in to a smart performer at Newmarket on his next start. The winner ran well in the Richmond Stakes earlier in the week so the form looks solid and the selection looks sure to give another good account. Jedburgh has shown abundant promise to be placed on both starts in decent maidens at Newmarket and Salisbury so has to be feared while Secretary General is a winner waiting to happen based on his fine debut second at Newmarket. The Barry Hills stable is in good form again so Over The Rainbow, a Rainbow Quest half-brother to a juvenile winner, could easily make an impact but Psychiatrist sets a fair standard and just gets the nod.
