Verdict

An open heat here with Millistar, Princess Cocoa, Dame Hester and Lily Elsie the four for our short list and we take Dame Hester to score. The selection stepped up well to 10f when winning by two lengths from Black Beauty at Folkestone last time and can go very well here. Although this trip is slightly shorter it should not pose a problem, she is on a decent mark and with Johnny Murtagh on board she gets the vote. Millistar hit form with a 10f Kempton win last time and has the scope to do better. She will need to though if she is to prove good enough here. Princess Cocoa drops back in trip after racing over 10 and 12 furlongs just lately. She won an ordinary handicap at Beverley last time in impressive style and will be no back number, while Irish raider Lily Elsie has already won a the trip back home and went well in defeat next time at Limerick. Coming from such illustrious connections, she is respected, but Dame Hester is our choice.
