In depth

Verdict

Qaroun is burdened with a 7lb penalty for winning a maiden race at Newbury in August. Alrahaal was beaten less than a length when fourth here in the same month and jockey bookings suggest he’s preferred to Haader while Be My Angel still finished five lengths behind the winner when runner-up at Kempton in January. SIR COMMANDER made a promising start at the same track when third to the progressive Desert Doctor, who has won three times since. The Haggas colt should make a bold bid on that evidence and gets the vote.
