Verdict

It was disappointing that APPLESANDPIERRES didn’t manage to win a race last season but he is impossible to oppose in a contest like this. At the weights, he has at least 19lb in hand on his rivals with last month’s Sedgefield third Newstart probably the best of those. Mr Snoozy has to give the selection 7lb, less riders’ claims, while Smart Ruler has been looking a light of former days in recent starts.
