Verdict
The Steward made late headway when second at Catterick in November but an absence since is a concern. Saint Freule was well backed in a handicap at Perth last week but downed tools at the start and refused to race. He has ability but a temperament to match and is a risky proposition. SWASHBUCKLE won three times on the Flat and got his head back in front in a jumpers’ bumper at Southwell in March. He weakened quickly on Tapeta last time but might get an uncontested lead in this and could stay on too strongly for his rivals. Indian Harbour ran well here last month on only his second hurdles start so may have more to offer.
