        Verdict

        A few of these are open to any amount of improvement and this could provide a solid piece of form; with the progressive Swainson fancied to edge it over Springtime Romance and Gavroche, who arrive here in a similar vein of form to our main hope and cannot confidently be ruled out. In contrast to Muhaymin, who has been very disappointing this term and now has a little to prove. Sailmaker is another that has not really lived up to his potential and is one to have reservations about here. Which brings us back to Swainson, who dropped a significant hint of what is to come when winning at Lingfield last month. The son of Swain does have a little to prove in making his turf debut on his handicap bow. But to counterbalance that, he has no queries to answer with regard to the trip and, off a mark of just 79, Swainson does not have too much to do to make this a winning start to his handicap career.
