Verdict

GOODWOOD TREASURE came up against Royal Ascot hopeful Memory last time (runs 2:30) and should go one better here, although Memory's trainer Richard Hannon saddles So Choosy and Paco Belle who have to be watched closely in the market. John Dunlop wouldn't be known for great success with juveniles but he had it last year with Elusive Pimpernel and, whilst it would be ambitious to assume this one can prove that good, she should have no trouble shedding her maiden tag. Last time she showed speed only to find one too good and her experience of the track adds to the case. Paco Belle will catch the eye of many but she's not particularly interesting on paper and the fact that Pat Dobbs, who presumably had his pick of Hannon's, rides So Choosy strengthens our belief she's the stable number one. As with her stablemate though she is actually bred to do better over further but Hannon knows all about Goodwood Treasure through Memory and support would be noteworthy. Clive Brittain's juveniles tend to improve for the run so Methayel can be taken on especially as her pedigree suggests that even at this early stage she may want further, Look Twice is bred to be a miler and both Mystica and Fair Dame showed precious little on their debuts, paving the way for Goodwood Treasure to become an aptly named winner.
