In depth

Verdict

Several of these have claims in a wide-open affair including Appetina, Springtime Romance and Al Shuua but it might be worth taking a chance with Anatolian Queen. The selection ran a race full of promise on her debut when a two-length third behind Night Frolic in testing conditions at Kempton. James Eustace's filly is bred to handle the faster ground here and looks worth chancing in a competitive maiden. James Given's Appetina has shown a consistent level of form and has to be respected but is likely to once again find at least one too good. Ed Dunlop's Springtime Romance has been highly tried so far and drops back in trip today, while Al Shuua has shown signs of ability and is another worthy of a mention. John Gosden's Collada is probably better than she showed on her debut, while newcomers Prairie Oyster and Ruggtah both warrant respect first time up. The vote though goes to Anatolian Queen, who makes plenty of appeal at the forecast odds.
