In depth
Verdict
Not too many in-form performers here but Amelia, Tappit and Turbius look the ones for the short-list. Amelia is drawn high and comes here in good form after a victory over five furlongs at Bath. The mare has won over six furlongs before and could still be well treated if we base an assessment on her three-year-old form. Turbius is drawn next door is stall seventeen and goes well for today's rider Amir Quinn. The pair were putting in their best work at the finish of a contest at Brighton in May over the flying five furlongs but today's extra furlong is still something of an imponderable. Fulvio boasts course and distance form. Third to Excalinor at the track last time out, that looked to be her best effort for some time and a repeat would see her in the shake up tonight. Milton Bradley is mob handed in the contest and we believe that Tappit is his best chance of the winner and will stick with this as our selection. The Mujadil gelding has no questions to answer with regard to the trip and two recent efforts in more competitive handicaps at Chepstow look to be the best form on offer among these runners. Whippersnapper is owned by gambler, Dave Nevison and is watched for any signs of life in the market but we will stick with the team of Savage and Bradley for Tappit in the opener.
