Verdict
A match on the face of it between Santa Lucia and Comfortable Call. Michael Dods trains the mare, Santa Lucia. She stays in excess of this trip and has been difficult to place in handicaps. While her win-to-run ratio is moderate; this realistically is her grade and with such moderate opposition in the field, she will not find a much easier opportunity to go into the winners' enclosure. Comfortable Call had to be driven along furiously around Market Rasen last week when under the handling of leading jockey, Mick Fitzgerald. The form in the grade is certainly there but there are more than one or two doubts about the ability to handle the trip. Flighty Leader has been very disappointing this term and is left well alone at the moment. Erro Codigo hails from a shrewd yard and even though he is out of the handicap, he could be worth a look now that he is stepped up in trip. Western Bluebird and Bridgend Blue look difficult to fancy. In conclusion, we will stick with Santa Lucia to land the prize at the expense of Comfortable Call.
