In depth
Verdict
The most competitive race on the card with Shays Lane, Mr Laggan and The Merry Mason all holding claims on the book.Shays Lane took a low grade handicap at the track a handicap mark of 74. She did it well enough though and a nine pound rise for that win does not look to be unduly harsh. Mares in form are always worth a look and she certainly should be in the shake up. The Merry Mason isn't particularlly quick and doesn't appear to be the easiest of rides. He is resolute for pressure and if we forget about a disappointing bow over fences at Wetherby, he has to enter calculations. Mr Laggan is still searching for a maiden victory over chase fences. He has been repeatedly exposed as ordinary although he is a relatively safer conveyance than many. Frankie Anson is temperamental but reportedly has shown plenty at home. His stable attempted to land a gamble earlier this week on the flat and they could be chasing losses tonight. No Sam No is not out of this on the book and could provide an each-way interest at bigger odds. Therefore, we will look at Shays Lane as a likely winner with Frankie Anson and No Sam No nominated as ones to look at in the market.
