        Verdict

        An apprentice handicap to end the card and Maromito looks the best option, with Double M and Byo put forward as the main rivals. Robin Bastiman's gelding was most impressive when beating Who's Winning at Salisbury earlier this month, and lost no caste in defeat behind Inch By Inch at Chepstow last time and can regain the winning thread here. Byo is saddled with nine stone seven but comes into the reckoning on his recent fourth in a hot claimer at Bath. Meanwhile Double M must enter calculations after running a gallant third in a much better contest at Bath last time. Many others can be given a squeak including Palawan and Redwood Star, but Maromito does look to be at the top of his game and is given the nod.
