In depth

Verdict

Andrew Balding has sent out three of the last five winners of this and the progressive Sovereign Spirit looks sure to figure raised 3lb for his latest success at Beverley. But ALBA LONGA returned to action with a victory at Windsor when giving the impression she was well ahead of the handicapper and a 6lb rise may not be enough to anchor her in this. Chepstow winner Divina Grace is upped in distance but Great Bedwyn is dropping down in class and makes more appeal.
