Verdict

Many of the usual suspects with BRANDYWELL BOY narrowly preferred to Bluebok and Colorus. The selection does not have the most frequent of win to run ratios but if he can secure a seam to work from, he is off a helpful enough handicap mark at present. Bluebok needs little introduction to followers of low grade sprints. He does need to reverse form with stable companion, Lithaam, though the latter is off a 10lb higher mark this afternoon. Colorus has a very inexperienced rider on board today. Life for Bill Ratcliffe's charge will be much more difficult from the lowest draw of all. Ernie Wheeler knows how to train a sprinter and Even Bolder has started to drop down the weights. Lee Newnes is worth his 5lb claim at this level. Peopleton Brook appears to reserve his best for this circuit so a note of his market position is accordingly advised. Joss Stick faced a tough task at the weights in claiming grade though a repeat of his second to Diddums would make him very competitive. Cheshire Rose was third off this mark at Nottingham though would probably welcome some overnight rain. A race that won't be setting the sprinting world alight but Brandywell Boy narrowly edges the vote.
