Fine Day may be up to making a winning debut at the expense of fellow newcomer Majestic Roi and the slightly more experienced pair, Baltic Belle and Cavort. Fine Day, a daughter of Fantastic Light, is related to quite a few winners, and is reported to be going great guns at home. She boasts no fancy entries at present, but is expected to have no problem handling the soft ground and is taken to make a successful start to her career. Majestic Roi is also well-related, being a half-sister to five winners, and runs in the Flashy Wings colours of Jaber Abdullah. Mick Channon ended a bit of a quiet spell by his standards when Digital bolted up at Bath on Monday, so his filly should be kept on the right side. Baltic Belle handled the soft ground when staying on into third on her Windso bow, and the extra furlong should be to her advantage despite being speedily bred. Cavort is the most experienced on view, having had two runs to date, the latest of which was at Leicester where she gave the distinct impression that she needs further than six furlongs already. La Roca, from the first crop of Rock Of Gibraltar, was sent off as favourite on her Windsor debut over five furlongs and shaped well enough in sixth to be considered a likely future winner, but in a race in which bets are best kept on the small side, we shall side with Fine Day.
