In depth

Verdict

Sextons House should not be ignored even if looking like the Hannon second string however VALEO SI VALES can confirm Salisbury form with Whodathought and gain a first success. Jamie Osborne's horses always improve plenty for their first start and this son of Oratorio shaped with promise behind Honourable Knight on debut. His 40/1 price tag suggested not too much was anticipated but he is expected to have learnt plenty and is narrowly preferred today. Whodathought ran very green when a place and a length behind him and is open to plenty of improvement with Richard Hughes in the saddle for the first time, whilst Sextons House was a fairly cheap purchase but is related to winners over this sort of trip and is not ignored on debut. Scatty drops in grade as he steps up in trip, Bright Applause is not the most obvious of newcomers given he's a half-brother to Hawridge King, whilst Persian Herald is more speedily bred and needs a market check on debut. Nothing else leaps off the page and so we will plump for Valeo Si Vales in a winnable maiden.
