In depth

Verdict

EREBUS was well-backed ahead of his Chepstow win and with Jimmy Fortune taking the ride again the feeling is that he could follow up; Galatian, Super Yellow and Boogie Waltzer are the three that head the shortlist of dangers. Sylvester Kirk's colt is fairly unexposed and he gained a first success at Chepstow last month. He has a new mark of 69 to contend with but he has more to offer. Super Yellow won well at Warwick in May but hasn't progressed in two runs since, Boogie Waltzer is chasing a hat-trick after narrow wins for this pilot at Windsor and Goodwood, whilst Galatian shaped with promise on his comeback and with his Deacon Blues form looking strong he is not ignored back up in trip. Course winner Do More Business still has a little to prove over this trip, Music Love needs a market check on his handicap bow having been big prices in some decent maidens, whilst Compton Way is another who remains capable of much better. The consistent Starwatch is considered, however the nod goes to Erebus.
