Russian Soul overcame trouble in-running to beat the in-form Gin In The Inn at Chester and should make a bold bid to follow up off 5lb higher. But old PASTORAL PLAYER knows where the winning post is here and still has the pace to be a factor in this if Charlie Bennett can humour him into contention. Fiftyshadesofgrey also has a good strike-rate here but was a little disappointing over the course and distance earlier this month. Fox Trotter hasn’t won since his debut in 2014 but Ascot third War Whisper is lightly raced and a previous course winner and makes more appeal than Lingfield second Handytalk.
