Verdict

Storm The Stars was placed at Epsom and in the Irish Derby at the Curragh after winning this in 2015 but the race’s influence as a Derby Trial has generally waned in recent years with only Fierce Impact entered in the upcoming Classic this year. He finished upsides Monarchs Glen in the Classic Trial at Sandown and the latter will need to settle better here to last home. John Gosden also runs Khalidi but he’s another on a retrieval mission after finished a well-beaten third behind subsequent Dante winner Permian when favourite at Newmarket. Raheen House would have claims on his second to Musidora winner Shutter Speed in a conditions race at Newbury but the interesting one may be THE GRAND VISIR (NAP). The Frankel colt only won a Yarmouth maiden earlier this month but was very green and should be capable of leaving that form well behind in time. Wetherby maiden winner Shymkent may find this company too hot.
