Verdict
Poet's Voice won this last year as a three-year-old when he arrived in very good form. He attempts to complete the double today but hasn't been seen since the Dubai World Cup in March where he was well beaten. The younger brigade, who have won the last three renewals, are represented by DUBAWI GOLD and he's taken to bounce back to winning ways. Second in the English and Irish 2000 Guineas before a poor run at Ascot, he would have finished much closer to Excelebration and today's rival Beacon Lodge in the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury but for meeting interference. Emerald Commander has never looked a Group 1 performer while Premio Loco hasn't been at his best on his last two starts. Set The Trend won a Listed race here in May but that looks about his level.
