In depth

Verdict

Najeebon could be the one to be on here, with Kingscross, Morse, Simpsons Mount and Mistral Sky rated as his main dangers. The selection got back to winning ways at Folkestone last time, which was a good effort given that he was racing on going that was softer than ideal. He should be more at home today and can go well in attempting to defy a penalty. Kingscross was beaten two necks by him at Folkestone and is now four pounds better off, so he can be considered, as can Morse, who is three pounds better for a neck with the selection. Vindication's wins have come at seven furlongs, and Idle Power is at the top end of his winning form. Elgin Marbles can improve this year, but we do not think today will be his day, and Dorchester is back to a winning mark but hasn't won since 2003. Simpsons Mount is open to improvement, so has to be considered, but Joy And Pain is arguably better on the all-weather. and Trotters Bottom might fare better returned to five furlongs from the six he ran over last time, and Mistral Sky is not far above a winning mark. Marker is four pounds above his course and distance winning mark but Marsad is not as good as he once was. Law Breaker is well-weighted if turning the clock back a couple of years but General Feeling was beaten off his revised mark last time. Overall, though, we are happy to stick with Najeebon.
