In depth

Verdict

The lightly-raced HORNSBY drops back in trip after an excellent run over a mile at Newmarket. He looks the best of Charlie Appleby's pair and gets the vote in a tight handicap. Estidraak landed a Kempton maiden very easily in November and didn't return until three weeks ago where he finished last in a Listed contest at Newmarket. That was nowhere near his form and he'll be a different proposition here. Bobby Wheeler was having only his fifth start when making all over a mile at Newmarket. He'll probably be even better suited by this trip and should make a bold bid. Stamp Hill ran very well here in May then just failed to hold off King's Pavilion at Epsom. He's 4lb higher but still improving and has to enter calculations. Hawatif landed a lower grade handicap at Doncaster and is 4lb higher while George William is also stepping up in class.
