Verdict

Dual bumper winner Rocket Lad started odds-on for his hurdling debut at Killarney and was just in the lead when falling at the last. However, he wasn't certain to have beaten Born By The Sea who did the form no favours when well beaten next time. RUN WILD FRED, disqualified after finishing first past on his only start between the flags, won two bumpers earlier this year and looks a nice prospect for hurdling. He may just have the edge on Drury, another who is bred for the job and an easy winner of a Cork bumper in August. Bois De Clamart was only half-a-length behind the selection on heavy going at Limerick in March though is 5lb worse off but winning point-to-pointer Doyen Dancer had a nice pipe-opener in a Tipperary bumper in May and should make a hurdler.
