In depth

Verdict

A trappy maiden here and as usual in these events the market will be very informative but the main protagonists look to be Green Wadi, Sir John Lilley and Mexican Venture and the narrow vote is given to Green Wadi. The selection was a fair fourth behind Sundowner last time out that form looks solid in the context of this race and in a poor affair he is given one last chance to get his head in front. Sir John Lilley rates the main danger as he is a well bred Gulch colt, half-brother to numerous winners from 5f-1m2f and will not need to be anything special to take a hand in the finish so he should be watched in the market. Mexican Venture showed improved form to be third behind Sir Billy Nick last time out and if he improves for that run he is another that would have definite place claims. Mumbleswerve has ran with promise in the past and if fit after a 465 day break he is another that could go well. Of the remainder Themwerethedays hails from a yard in form and could go well at a price but for the winner we return to Green Wadi.
