In depth

Verdict

A clutch of three-year-olds are likely to be to the fore in this. Justified won over slightly further here in June while Viceregent steps up in trip again after an improved second at Haydock. Magna Moralia will be better for his run at the Lancashire track, where he met trouble in-running, but the vote goes to GEORGE MALLORY. Kevin Ryan’s four-year-old has his ground for the first time since a good third here last year off a 3lb higher mark. Flood Defence arrives on a hat-trick but has been raised a further 5lb, though will handle easier conditions.
