Verdict

BIRKDALE has not raced for nearly a year now but has every chance on last season’s form. Placed in both starts at Ayr, a repeat of either effort should see David O’Meara’s charge go close in this company. Take Charge sets the standard off a mark of 71 but has been well beaten in handicaps of late while neither of Richard Fahey’s charges have looked like winning so far with Full Of Promise preferred to Abu Khadra on her earlier fourth at Brighton. The remainder are even harder to fancy unless the newcomer Lord Bopper proves above average.
