      Verdict

      Regal Mirage gained the tenth victory of his career at Beverley in April but couldn't get to the winner from 3lb higher at Pontefract. Breguet Boy score over hurdles in February and has dropped back to the mark he was last successful off here in September. Jackhammer hasn't had much racing over the past couple of years and has been narrowly beaten the last twice while GULF OF POETS, though on a long losing run, has dropped to a feasible mark as a consequence and can get back to winning ways. Markazi hasn't won since 2019 while Ralphy Boy Two ran moderately at Carlisle after a much better effort here three days earlier when just in front of Paddyplex.
