      Verdict

      KALAGIA, a 105,000gns yearling, started odds-on for her debut at Ripon but looked in need of the experience and should gain compensation. Palmer hasn't been beaten far in any of his races but may do better in a nursery while Rockin Fella didn't handle soft ground at Carlisle so wouldn't want the ground to ease further. Ventura Gold has looked in need of a stiffer test in his two runs to date.
