Verdict
A tough opener that can go to College Maid, who has hit form at the right time for this and she is preferred over One Way Ticket and Desert Arc, whose connections will be hoping that he behaves himself on the way to the start this time after he unshipped Kieren Fallon in the preliminaries at Pontefract on Monday evening. Course specialist Xanadu, along with Bundy are others that are capable of figuring strongly in a race of this nature and are worth considering as shortlist alternatives. While Locome Hill is not out of this on the best of his form and is a candidate to tow them along at a fair clip in the early stages. However, that scenario will suit College Maid, whose record when turned out quickly is a solid indication to how she will fare tonight. The game seven-year-old thrives on her racing and will be hard to beat of she repeats her recent effort at Doncaster tonight. College Maid also has one of the better jockeys booked for the ride and it will be no surprise to see her swoop late and conquer if everything goes to plan.
