Verdict

Luca Cumani has his string flying at the moment and looks to have found a good opportunity to pay for the traveling expenses up from Newmarket with Zeitgeist, who looks progressive enough to cope with the challenges presented by Tudor Bell and Colorado Falls, who both arrive here in good heart and are respected as dangers. The same comments apply to Kid 'Z' Play, who goes well here and is always dangerous to rule out. However, his tendency to set off at a rate of knots has been his undoing on too many occasions in the past and he looks vulnerable to a lesser exposed rivals these days. None of the nine runners at the overnight stage fit that bill better than Zeitgeist, who has a fifty percent strike-rate from his starts so far and was far from disgraced when he finished a close up fourth a Windsor sandwiched in between his two victories. The 6lb penalty does not make life any easier for Zeitgeist though, and this will provide him with his stiffest test in handicap company to date. However, the Singspiel colt could well prove to be a class above this bunch of experienced campaigners and he is expected to expand on his profile with another win tonight; possibly at the main expense of Tudor Bell, who is a versatile sort that may put up the most resistance.
