In depth
Verdict
Emerald Bay, Go Solo and Regent¿s Secret look the principals here and preference is for Go Solo, who can complete the hat-trick. Emerald Bay won two successive starts earlier in the summer but has struggled to get his head in front since. He has run well in defeat though, as at Pontefract last time, and although he will be thereabouts, he may be in the handicapper¿s grip. Regent¿s Secret is four pounds better off for a two length beating at the hands of Go Solo last time and must go close. He won twice here over the course and distance earlier in the summer and he may also be too high in the weights now. The same remark may also apply to Go Solo, who shoulders top weight here, but he has won his last two starts in good style, including that course and distance win over Regent¿s Secret, and Go Solo gets the vote to continue the winning run.
