In depth

Verdict

Dickie Le Davoir won well on Tuesday at Pontefract but this is a different kettle of fish and preference is for Methaaly ahead of Howards Tipple. The selection is not an obvious one as he hasn't won since March despite eight attempts. He has had excuses for his last two runs but is better rated on his close second at Wolverhampton in April. A return to this trip will suit having won over the minimum trip at Musselburgh before and having beaten Dickie Le Davoir back in March, he could be able to beat him again. Rothesay Dancer is very consistent but she is looking hard to win with now although she will pop up again at some point. Haajes needs a market check returning to the track after an absence; however a more eminent danger may be Howards Tipple. He won well at the track last time out when he was well-backed and whilst that was only a claimer, he could go on from there. Stablemate Chookie Heiton could go well, whilst Rasaman is rated a danger on his recent second at Thirsk. An open affair, but Methaaly is fancied to score.
