      Verdict

      The lightly-raced Marina's Charm looks the call here in a competitive race where Takes Tutu, Cherished Number and Gifted Flame could be the main dangers. The selection is stepping up in trip, but having only raced a couple of times this year should have the edge as regards freshness whereas some of her rivals have had a busy summer to date. The manner of her effort last time out at Goodwood suggests this step up in trip would suit and she is a confident selection. Takes Tutu is not the most consistent type but can run well on a going day. The ground should suit him and if taking to this course should put up a good account of himself. Cherished Number rarely runs a bad race at this track and seems in heart at present. Suited by the ground, the main drawback could be this step up in trip , a distance at which he has failed to act at before. Gifted Flame is another who regularly runs at distances below this extended nine furlongs. However, he will be suited by the fast going and runs for a stable who does well here and has hinted on occasions he will stay this trip. Marina's Charm, then, is the selection with stablemate Takes Tutu looking the main danger.
