Verdict

Those with experience have shown little so far, so the Godophin debutant Golden Sahara is hard to oppose here, with fellow debutant Lochbuie the obvious threat. The latter is one of two Geoff Wragg-trained newcomers in the field, and the booking of Darryll Holland for this well-related Definite Article colt suggests he may be the pick of them, although Rubaiyat is a half brother by Desert Story to the stable's useful Grand Passion, and the market may prove the most reliable guide as to their relative merits. Luca Cumani's Monte Bianco is marginally the pick of those with experience, but it would be a surprise if he could beat Golden Sahara. This Green Desert colt has a host of big race entries, including the Middle Park, and the stable's first juvenile runner was only beaten by a very smart horse on her debut. It is possible Golden Sahara will start at prohibitive odds here, but in truth he is hard to oppose
