Verdict
Farne Island is selected in a decent handicap to overcome the challenges of Walnut grove and Noble Nova. Noble Nova is only a modest performer but won her second race in a big field last time at Ayr. She carries a six pound penalty and although she can go well, her earlier form suggests she may have to settle for a place here. Walnut Grove is less exposed than most and left previous form well behind when taking a Beverley handicap last time. She is six pounds higher here but can still go well. Farne Island is seven pounds better off with Walnut Grove for a beating off just over three lengths and has shaped well at Musselburgh since, finishing a close second after travelling well. Farne Island can lose his maiden tag here.
