Verdict
Obe Gold, High Curragh and RACCOON look the three to concentrate on here and the vote goes to the last-named. Ruth Carr's nine-year-old is an ultra-consistent performer who relishes trip and ground and has run with plenty of credit in handicaps this season, including wins at both Nottingham and Catterick. He should be well up to this grade on a rare claimer appearance and has a good chance at the weights. Obe Gold has been much better than this in the past and connections now drop him into this sphere. Trip and ground suit, although he has done more of his recent winning over 6f, but he is not dismissed lightly. High Curragh has largely been disappointing this season, aside from a Ripon win in April, but he will find this grade easier and can show signs of a return to form. Just Joey looks next best but in truth the others will probably be having their own separate race and we'll take Raccoon to score.
