        Verdict

        None of these inspire much confidence so we'll plump for the lightly-raced handicap debutant GO ON GILBERT as he won't have to find much improvement to come out best in this. Double Cee went close at Redcar in between a couple of distinctly modest efforts but he's as unreliable as last month's Lingfield runner-up Always Ends Well, who was nearer last on her latest start. Luctor Emergo and Schmooze are struggling off their current marks but Madam Bonny finished closer over C&D last time and could be thereabouts.
