Verdict

This may be the most competitive race on today's card. Irish raiders Lara Carbonara and Sharjah both go on the short-list. The former won an amateurs' race over a bit further here last week but has collected a penalty and was behind San Quentin at the track earlier in a race in which Clear Spell finished fifth. Sharjah was fourth at Leopardstown after winning at Bath and Hillgrove Angel is an improving stayer but Monsieur Glory is not bred to stay this far and The Kid only won a seller at Catterick. Charlie Appleby's runners have a 50 per cent strike rate here and LONG CALL has been steadily improving. By Authorized, the Yarmouth runner-up should appreciate 1m4f for the first time and gets the nod.
