Verdict

A difficult one to call and NORTHSIDE PRINCE is only a speculative selection ahead of Aldaado and Liberty Trail. The last named has been mainly consistent and has shaped as if he can win a race of this nature. He is burdened with top weight today but should still be capable of throwing down a stern challenge if he runs his race. Aldaado has made good progress this season - culminating in a determined effort to dead-heat at Beverley last month. The handicapper has given him a chance off just a 4lb higher mark; so a big run cannot be discounted. However, Northside Prince is unexposed at a mile and having failed to stay over 1m-4f last time out; he may really appreciate today¿s drop in distance. His trainer, Alan Swinbank, knows the time of day with contenders of this type and Northside Prince is recommended as the first part of the scheme when drawing up your plans for this tough little handicap.
