OUTLAND is fancied to overcome a 7lb higher mark (for winning at Yarmouth 19 days ago) and make the trip from Newmarket to Hamilton worthwhile today. Tae Kwon Do has claims at this level, while Addison De Witt and Sharp Sovereign are others worth bearing in mind. Sharp Sovereign heads the racecard and needs to be on the ball from the start. However, considering half of the field are rated 50 and below, carry top weight at this level is hardly the most arduous task of the day. A move for Ian Semple's charge will be interesting. Addison De Witt is a stayer in the making and will appreciate a strong pace. Quite whether he has the turn of foot required to hold all comers is very debatable, though. Tae Kwon Do has been knocking on the door of late and is unexposed at the distance. He should handle the ground and appeals as the best alternative to the selection. However, Outland has far more scope for improvement and, having comfortably held better horses at Yarmouth earlier in the month, the Mark Tompkins-trained gelding looks to have been found a most suitable opportunity to strike whilst the iron is hot.
