The three-year-old DAWN CALLING was having only his third start when making all in a Catterick maiden and coming home 8l clear. He could have been let in here on a very lenient mark and looks the one to beat. Lothair's hat-trick included a victory here and he was by no means disgraced in a better race at Carlisle. He has to be respected along with the veteran Tajneed, who has bounced back to form and was only just beaten in this class at Newcastle last time. The latter's stablemate Indego Blues could pose a threat as he scored nicely at Thirsk before finishing mid-division in the Bronze Cup at Ayr while yet another from the Nicholls yard, Bonnie Charlie, ran well in a tough handicap at Ayr won by Hazelrigg. Master Bond has a huge weight to carry thanks to his victory at Beverley.
