This is usually an open affair but St Leger entry GAASSEE should prove hard to beat. The progressive William Haggas-trained colt landed a four-timer with victory in a tough handicap at York on his reappearance and may prove a cut above these. Trawlerman disappointed at Ascot last time but Get Shirty won over a longer trip at the same track and bids for a hat-trick. Secret Shadow also drops down in distance and will be sharper for a third at Goodwood. He makes more appeal than stablemate Something Enticing while Windsor winner Liverpool Knight will appreciate any cut in the ground and is preferred to Brentford Hope. Inchicore may do best of the remainder ahead of Enfranchise.
